About Samsung Cell Labelling

Samsung updated the sleeve printing format for their 18650 cells in 2024 due to regulatory and certification changes. New batches will no longer display “Samsung” on the wrap, and instead show “SDI” along with updated compliance markings (such as CCC).

Older stock (pre-2024) typically features “Samsung SDI” clearly printed on the sleeve, along with the model and batch details in the previous format. This is the version most customers are familiar with.
