NCM T3S: The Step-Thru Commuter Melbourne Keeps Choosing
Share
If you ask us which e-bike most people in Melbourne actually ride away on, it's this one. The NCM T3S is the step-thru commuter we sell more of than anything else in the NCM range, and it's the bike we point to first when someone says "I just want to get to work without arriving sweaty."
Here's what it is, who it suits, and when you'd pick the T7S instead.
What the T3S is
A low step-thru frame, an upright riding position and a rear hub motor with pedal assist up to 25 km/h, which is the Australian road-legal standard. No rego, no licence, bike paths and bike lanes are all fine. It comes with the practical stuff fitted — rack, mudguards and lights — so you're not spending another $300 on day one.
The step-thru matters more than people expect. If you're carrying a bag, wearing work clothes, or just don't love swinging a leg over a top tube at a red light, you'll notice it every single ride.
Who it suits
- Daily commuters doing 5 to 25 km each way
- Anyone coming back to cycling after a long break
- Riders who want something easy, upright and comfortable rather than sporty
- Shorter riders and anyone with knees or hips that don't love high frames
T3S or T7S?
The T7S is the same idea with a bigger battery and a longer range. If your round trip is under 40 km and you can charge at home every night, the T3S does the job and saves you money. If you're doing longer days, hilly suburbs, or you'd rather charge twice a week than every night, the T7S is worth the step up.
What you get buying it from us
Every NCM from Grace and Pace is assembled, tuned and test-ridden in our Alphington workshop before you touch it, with a free follow-up service once it's bedded in. We're an authorised NCM dealer and we keep genuine NCM batteries, chargers and parts on the shelf, so if anything ever needs attention it gets sorted here in Melbourne rather than posted interstate.
