Ryder E-Bikes and Trikes: The Range Explained

Ryder Pro 3 commuter e-bikeRyder builds its bikes around two promises: a "No Junk Guarantee" on components, and a 3 year warranty on motor, frame and battery. For a lot of buyers, especially first-time e-bike buyers, that warranty is the reason Ryder ends up on the shortlist.

Here's the range, sorted by who it suits.

The commuters

  • Pro 3: a lightweight hybrid on 700c wheels with a 13Ah battery good for over 70 km on a charge. It follows the Pro 2, which sold to thousands of riders over many years.
  • Pro 3 Mid-Drive: the same idea with a Motinova mid-drive motor and Shimano Altus 9-speed gearing. A mid-drive gives more natural power delivery and is the better choice if your commute has hills.
  • Uni-Ryder 2: a comfortable step-through with a big 20Ah battery, designed to cover over 80 km on a charge. This is the one for longer rides and people who hate charging.
  • Maxximus: a step-through built specifically for taller riders, with a 10 year frame guarantee. If you've always felt cramped on step-through bikes, try this one.

The folders

  • UniRyder 2 Folding: Ryder's most popular step-through design in a compact folding frame. Easy to store at home, in the caravan or in the boot.
  • Fatty: a folding bike with 4-inch fat tyres, for city streets, sandy beaches and everything in between.

The trikes

  • Mover: the value pick. A 48V 250W motor, 720Wh battery and sturdy 20" x 3.0" tyres, self-balancing with a low step-through frame.
  • Drover: the fat tyre trike. A 48V 250W Bafang rear motor, 720Wh LG battery, 20" x 4.0" puncture-resistant Kenda tyres, and front and rear crates.
  • Eureka: the premium, European-style trike, built for maximum comfort, stability and carrying capacity.

The honest bit

A warranty is only as good as the shop standing behind it. If something goes wrong, you want to deal with a workshop that can diagnose the bike properly, not a call centre. That's what we do.
