Vamos E-Bikes: Rapido, Doblez, Amigo or a Trike?
Share
Vamos doesn't try to make every kind of e-bike. It makes a small range of practical ones, each built around a job. That makes choosing easy: work out the job, and the bike picks itself.
Getting to work: Rapido
The Vamos Rapido is purpose-built for the casual to everyday rider. City streets, the beach, hills without the sweat. It's the most popular commuter in the Vamos range, and it's the one to start with if you just want a good bike to ride most days.
No room at home: Doblez
Doblez is Spanish for fold. The Vamos Doblez folds and unfolds in seconds and collapses to about suitcase size. Apartments, caravans, car boots, under the desk at work.
Carrying stuff: Amigo
The Vamos Amigo is a compact cargo bike with fat tyres, front fork suspension and a comfy seat post. Front and rear trays give it serious carrying ability without the length of a traditional cargo bike.
Carrying people: Amigo Plus
The Amigo Plus has room for two passengers on the rear seat, the option of a child rack, and a spacious front cargo tray. If the school run is the reason you're looking at e-bikes, look at this one.
Stability first: the trikes
The Papa Grande Pro is the big one: a substantial e-trike with a low step-through frame and an integrated handbrake so you can park on uneven ground. The Vamos Trio is built for comfort, balance and everyday freedom, with the same easy step-through design.
Trikes are a great option for riders who want to keep riding but don't want to worry about balance. See all electric trikes, and if it's relevant to you, see our NDIS information.
The honest bit
A trike or a cargo bike is bigger than you think. Before you buy, measure your gate, your shed door and wherever it's going to live. Better to find out in our car park than in your driveway.
