A proper lock that folds down small enough to carry without it being a nuisance. Hardened 5mm steel plates rated to around nine tonnes of shear force — tough enough to make a thief go looking for an easier bike — and a 4-digit combination, so there's no key to lose.
Every plate is wrapped in a scratch-resistant coating so it won't chew your paint, and it folds flat into its own bracket so it rides with you rather than rattling around in a bag. The bracket bolts to a standard bottle-cage mount or straps to the frame.
