The workhorse. The KMC Z8.1 is the chain we fit more than any other — it suits 6, 7 and 8-speed drivetrains, which covers most commuters, hybrids, kids' bikes and older mountain bikes rolling around Alphington.

Z-bridge outer plates help the chain mesh onto the cog quickly, and the chamfered inner plates keep shifts smooth rather than clunky. Solid pins handle being shifted under load. Includes a reusable Missing Link so it can come off for a clean without a chain breaker.
